Correctional Law

The experience of federal incarceration is usually long, frightening, and full of legal problems.

Federal prisoners are some of the most vulnerable citizens in Canadian society: many have had abusive childhoods, suffer from mental illnesses, and are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. They are controlled by a large and often arbitrary and unfair bureaucracy, and they need expert advice on how to best cope with the challenges of incarceration.

I have extensive experience assisting federal prisoners to not only enforce all of their legal rights but to rehabilitate themselves so that they may rejoin society at the earliest opportunity.
